Ha ha ha ha ha.

FFS.

Welcome to the race to the bottom.

Regardless of the comparison which actually justifies fuck all, fairly sure that the Lewinsky affair was pretty much the dictionary definition of a 'scandal' and if memory serves, resulted in impeachment hearings on perjury and obstruction of justice charges.

As Vlad says, it's not even news now.

Aim low, sink lower.

Indeed.

As Trump said earlier - to paraphrase - he could go out into the street and shoot somebody and he would still wouldn't lose any of his supporters.  It's completely true.  Morals and ethics are flexible to fit our needs. Trump is, supposedly, the representative of the conservatives and the religious right in the US. They didn't flinch when he was caught on tape talking about pussy grabbing.  This won't phase them either.

But should it? If our public officials are doing the jobs that we hired (voted) them to do, does their private behavior belong to us? I didn't think that Lewinski affair was any of our business (though lying to congress about it certainly was, obvious).  I'm not sure I can shift my morals to be too horrified at Trump banging whores while he's married just because I loathe him, when I could turn a blind eye with Willie.

Personally, I'd like to see this flame up and get as bad as possible for that orange retard. To see him get divorced while in office would be fucking brilliant.

Exactly my feelings too, Rasta.  Well said.

Does the fact that you are unfaithful to your wife make you a bad president?

No, just a bad person. There are worse things than infidelity: Churchill was an alcoholic. The future King of England is an adulterer, as was his first wife, and he was just continuing a long established family trait.

Personally Rob Oudkerk is my favourite man to hate. He was a Dutch Labour Party star, a married man with children and a practicing GP, who told a reporter (off the record) about his thrilling trips to the Amsterdam illegal street prostitution zone, where the prostitutes were either under-aged or drug addicts or both and would work for 5 euros. The reporter betrayed him and he lost his reputation but has been recently rehabilitated, working as a lecturer in a college of higher education and hosting a radio programme on Sunday evening. Mr Rosie loves to tease me, sitting up in bed with his earphones in on Sunday evening, telling me "don't disturb me, I'm listening to the Great Whore-master again."

Almost certainly not.

Is the fact that you paid hush money to a porn star in order to deprive voters of information that would have been salient to some of their electoral decisions a few weeks prior to being elected president worthy of comment and investigation. Probably. I would certainly regard it newsworthy.

And I hate the fact that bringing this up makes me sound a bit prudish, but FFS!

I don't think I disagree with you. And on reflection, it may be my personal animosity to The Donald that prompted the post, it's the hush money thing I think. If he thinks as he has stated, and I agree with him that he could shoot someone and not lose votes, then why is he paying hush money to cover up sleeping with someone? And let's face it, shooting someone in 5th Avenue, and sleeping with a porn star...well you're only going to prison for one of them.

It just should be a bigger deal.

I don't like him.

It's not the act itself that's the problem (the adultery), but the cover-up, as it opens himself up to blackmail.  This guy wouldn't get security clearance in a million years if he wasn't the president.  A bunch of carny hacks from the wrong side of NYC playing with fire against KGB trained operatives.  They're getting exposed like the rubes they are.
