It's gone the same way as Halloween,  a compulsory commercial enterprise...

Agreed.  I didn't even buy/wear a poppy this year for that reason.

I wore a poppy in remembrance of my great grandfather who was killed in 1915 and all people who died during the two world wars.  When I went over to France two years ago to lay poppies at the cemetery where he is commemorated, I found it a very emotional experience to see so many graves of young men who died during WW1.

What makes you think it's a commercial enterprise?  I think that's a very sad thing to say as the money goes to a charity.

Maybe you feel the need to take a different view on it, but I've never thought it was (as some have said) 'racist' or war-mongering.  It's simply a chance to remember people from all countries who were involved who died.

So anywhere that there's "commercialism" of a good cause by other interests, we should shun that charity?

Or maybe it's just THIS particular charity?   Sad

Of course not. I'm assuming the charity has nothing to do with "Army Man Soldier theme bunting banner ... for guaranteed simply stylish party National Royal Patriotic decoration". Ideal for UKIP, EDL, Young Selfservative, etc. parties, I dare say.

Looking on the bright side, it can only be good for the Chinese economy.

Anyone buying poppy bling from Amazon or anywhere else except the Royal British Legion is an idiot.  Just because that happens, though, is that a good enough reason to not buy a poppy from the RBL?  How utterly stupid, to use commercialism as an excuse not to support this good cause, which leads me to wonder the motives of Rader and Riot.  It smacks to me of a distaste of things British and that, to me, is unforgivable.

Of course not.  Your usual playing with words doesn't work here.  I can't tell you how furious this whole fucking thread has made me.

I see, so instead of responding to the op you prefer to make snide remarks about what YOU think my opinion is.

Which as usual is completely wrong.

No, you're doing the usual stuff you do with the likes of Ben.  You try to make me out to be wrong.

I've had it with this fucking board.  If you can call it that.

Bollocks.

Making stuff up on my behalf is about normal for you these days. Do you ever actually read what I write before you frame your prejudice?

Bollocks.

Because you are wrong, completely.

I come from a family with a long history in the forces. Hell even my mother was in the army. I was born and lived on army bases.

MY opinion is that anyone making money out of this is pretty gauche.

It should NEVER be about that.

So you can apologise or fuck off and be spiteful on your love board. You are capable of little else. Roll Eyes

Because people like you prefer to make spiteful prejudiced remarks instead of actually reading stuff.

Don't be deflecting shit, you were 100% wrong.

Own it

Nope.  I've read too many of your nasty little posts in the past to know your opinion of things British.

This is my last post here.

I rest my case. Read this thread again and show me ANYTHING nasty that hasn't been made up by you.

Not even the grace to apologise when 100% wrong.

Moral coward.
