Eh?  Brexit?

As everyone keeps saying, we haven't left the EU yet!   She's been taken back to Singapore in any case, poor woman.

I'm at a loss to understand how someone who's married to a Brit, who has children here, can be deported. Especially since people who break the law, end up in jail, and having got some poor girl pregnant, can then cite the right to family life etc. etc., and NOT get deported.  How does that work?

But, but, but....that's the law - and you are strongly in favour of the law being enforced, because it isn't an ass, and it serves 'justice', right?

...and what on earth does this have to do with Brexit - explain please

Unlike our German friends then?

"Germany is set to reverse a six-year-old block on the deportation of asylum-seekers back to Greece, despite a humanitarian crisis in the refugee camps there. Refugee organizations are horrified."  DW

"ANGELA MERKEL today announced plans to deport 100,000 migrants who arrived in Germany last year as she continues to backtrack on her controversial open door asylum policy. "  Express

"Berlin has reportedly suggested that the EU relax some human rights provisions on refugees to deport more asylum seekers at times of a “mass influx.”  Reuters

" It must be an election year in Germany. Chancellor Angela Merkel has agreed to a plan to speed up deportations of immigrants " Hotair

"Germany has called for the European Union to scrap human rights ... so migrants can be deported to countries currently considered unsafe." Euronews

"German authorities deported 620 unaccompanied minors | News | DW ...

...and so on. Seems that the honeymoon is over

The same as "Yeah the home office/border agency whoever seems a lot more aggressive towards furriners these days. "

We are both concerned about immigration, we are both taking similar actions to try to mitigate the problem

Why should one be Brexit related and not the other

I don't want to misunderstand you

Can you clarify - are you saying that only the UK  "seems a lot more aggressive towards furriners these days. " Germany doesn't"......because that is clearly untrue. Germany is certainly becoming more aggressive as regards deportation of migrants than the UK of late

Good idea!  There are far too many embarrassing British oiks in the queues at Gatwick.  I think the points system should be adhered to when they apply for passports, let alone when they want to visit Marbella or Ayia Napa.

That million might be regretting it, though, if they don't feel welcome.

History!

I was responding to your claims about the present

Germany is belatedly waking up to their short sighted stupidity.

My post remains perfectly valid - Germany IS becoming more aggressive as regards deportation of foreigners than the UK.

How many has germany taken in ?
How many has germany deported ?

Germany doesn't do shortsighted stupidity. It needs labour.

Germany was courting China in the 70s as it knew the way it was heading. Hence now it is coining gazillions building them maglevs.

Totally irrelevant to the topic and my response to YOUR reply

The topic insinuates that any deportations are a direct result of Brexit - which is clearly not the case

You then support the false premise by saying "Yeah the home office/border agency whoever seems a lot more aggressive towards furriners these days."

Can you not see that I am not denying that we are tightening up on deportations.........

AND SO IS GERMANY to an even greater extent. Whether or not your immigration problem is greater than ours is irrelevant, we are BOTH increasing efforts with deporting undesirables/illegals

IT HAS SOD ALL TO DO WITH BREXIT

geddit?

I suggest that you read post 5

Are you suggesting that Germany is NOT getting more focussed on deportations than it was in the past?

If so show some evidence

If not then my observation is perfectly correct and valid

Hint - ranting that Germany admitted more immigrants than Uk is totally irrelevant to changing deportation policy.

I repeat, we are BOTH increasing concentration on speeding up deportations - Germany to a greater degree ....simples

You have been known to be economical with the truth.

My addled brain told me that you got wed whilst I have been reading your rants - but you appear to be anti-marriage....and I have great difficulty taking seriously someone who claims to have got married "for a laugh"

Are you embarrassed to confess to being married, Myky?

Why is that?
