Yesterday afternoon there was an orange sky over London and the south-east, something to do with Storm Ophelia and sands from the Sahara being whipped up and carried to the UK, plus a smokey smell from the forest fires in Portugal.  It was the weirdest thing.

Vlad, that was strange for you though.   Undecided

Well, l don't.  I struggle with the children's picture crossword in the local rag.  But l always fancied that Revelations was a trick devised by a bored old man  (some authorities say lots of naughty old men) to keep scholars  amused and off the streets.

Some might say the whole Bible fits that description. Not to mention some other holy books I'm not mentioning.  Cool

Well, I think it does make sense.  It's doing nothing to racists, but it seems to upset people who honour the flag and the national anthem.  Do you think they are racists?

Some of them, yes.

So, every October the wife and I watch scary movies every night as kind of a Halloween tradition.  Last night it was 1972s "Tales from the Crypt" (as far as I know, there's no connection to the TV program of the same name.)  Watching it I think one of the characters looks familiar.  Roy Dotrice in the "Wish You Were Here" segment.  I look him up on IMDB and see that he was in a bunch of stuff I've watched over the years.  Most recently Game of Thrones.  Then I click from IMDB to yahoo and there's a notice that he died right there on the main screen.

Normal people do the Guardian crossword?? Huh?

Exactly.  It alters things not one iota.

Probably helps ammunition sales though.

Does anyone really believe this alters anything?  How does kneeling while the national anthem is being played help rid a country of racism? It's a gesture, nothing more.

But it's a very, very public gesture. What else can they do, especially with Jabba (obviously a racist himself) in power?

This is like walking into Round Britain Quiz.  I always thought  Che Guevara died before he was 40, but maybe he escaped after all and eked out his days in a cave in Jordan.  He could be living still on a Greek island like John the apostle, writing down his revelations for his disciples to puzzle over instead of getting on with the Guarduan crossword like normal people.

This makes no sense. How can you stick a time frame on protest ?

Why worry why they weren't doing it in 1960? They're doing it now, and the message is obvious.

Doesn't bother the racists? Clearly it does. Maybe it'll make them think. . . . . . Silly me -- I mean make them shoot.
